The nervous system has three key functions: a sensory function, an interpretative function, and a motor function.
- Sensory nerves gather information from inside the body and the outside environment. The nerves then carry the information to central nervous system (CNS).
- Sensory information brought to the CNS is processed and interpreted.
- Motor nerves convey information from the CNS to the muscles and the glands of the body.

#1. Deep Breathing.
Deep breathing is a simple yet effective technique to deal with a weak nervous system. It can help you relax and reduce stress.
Furthermore, deep breathing improves your body’s healing abilities and counteracts the effects of stress and anxiety.
How To Do?
- Lie down or sit in a comfortable position, putting your hands on your abdomen.
- Take a deep breath through your nose, expanding your abdomen and then filling your lungs with air.
- Hold your breath for 3 seconds, then breathe out slowly through your mouth and completely empty your lungs.
- Continue to inhale and exhale deeply for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Enjoy a short session of deep breathing 2 or 3 times a day.
#2. Take Vitamin Enriched Diet.
Brain, spinal cord, and nerves are coated with a layer of fat, called myelin. It is suggested that you eat an adequate amount of healthy fat, Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12 to stop the erosion of myelin.
#3. Practice Neat Writing Every Day.
One of the best ways of keeping your nervous system fine tuned is to spend a minimum of 15 minutes per day writing on paper as neatly as you can. Writing with a pen on paper is far more effective at exercising your nervous system than writing with a keyboard on a computer, as typing on a keyboard doesn’t require as much fine motor control as writing on paper.
The simple act of writing requires that you use all major components of your conscious motor and sensory pathways; a number of different sensory receptors, peripheral nerves, synaptic connections within your spinal cord, major tracts within your spinal cord, and nerve tissue throughout your brain need to be utilized with great precision and coordination to produce neatly written words.
#4. Walking Barefoot On Grass In The Morning.
It’s not really surprising that being surrounded by nature can boost your nervous system. To make things better, try walking barefoot on the beach, the forest, or even in grasslands. For sure you will feel the effects immediately.
Take a break from the usual humdrum of your city life and get in touch with nature. Your nervous system will thank you for it.
#5. Sun Light.
Make sure you are exposing your body to enough sunlight on a daily basis. It is said that you should get at least ten or fifteen minutes of the sun in the morning, which will help boost the levels of vitamin D in your body. It is also helpful to get vitamin D from your diet, by eating products such as salmon, eggs, tuna, milk and certain breakfast cereals.
