Cop Breastfeeds Malnourished and Dirty Toddler In Children's Hospital While At Duty, Got Promoted!

A police officer who breastfed a neglected “smelly and dirty” baby in a hospital has been praised for her act of kindness.

Celeste Ayala, from Berisso in Argentina, was working on guard duty at the Sor Maria Ludovica children’s hospital in Buenos Aires when the baby was brought in crying inconsolably, suffering from malnutrition.

Hearing the child’s desperate cries of hunger, her maternal instinct kicked in. She asked the staff if she could hold and feed him as it was clear they were overloaded with work.

As she started to breastfeed him, the baby immediately began to relax.

The doctors were overloaded with patients so they had no time to take care of one more child. The officer decided to jump into action and breastfeed the baby herself. Her partner captured that moment in a photo and later shared the picture on Facebook in an attempt to draw attention to the heroic act of kindness and sympathy from her co-worker.

According to local media, the malnourished baby is the youngest of six siblings from a single mother who is struggling to cope and in a desperate situation.

She wrote: “I want to make public this great gesture of love that you did today for that little baby, who you didn’t know. But you didn’t hesitate for a moment to act as if you were his mother, you didn’t care about his filth and smell, contrary to the hospital staff.”

The public reacted immediately, sending praises and comments expressing admiration for Ayala’s kindness! The woman commented: “‘It was a sad moment, it broke my soul seeing him like this. Society should be sensitive to the issues affecting children, it cannot keep happening.

Cristian Ritondo, the security minister of Buenos Aires province, congratulated the officer, who is also said to be a volunteer firefighter.

“We wanted to thank her in person for that gesture of spontaneous love that managed to calm the baby’s cry”, he tweeted, adding that her conduct epitomized “the police we’re proud of, the police we want”.

We definitely need more people like Celeste Ayala.
